We don’t really have a lot new right now. This is not because things are not happening, but because a lot of the training centers are busy “doing their thing.” Our active groups are as follows:

-SPUC CPE Center— Cagayan de Oro. Community Chaplaincy

January 2025 we will have our annual board meeting.

March 2025 we (some of us) will attend the CPSP Plenary gathering in Orlando, FL (USA)

June or July 2025 we will have our Centenary celebration (for CPE). More to follow on this one.

We are in the process of developing sub-specialty “fellowships” in clinical chaplaincy. One that is up and running is “Corporate Chaplaincy.” Sometimes the term “Marketplace Chaplaincy” is also used. Chaplain Renato Eustaquio, DPS serves as a corporate chaplain and is authorized to supervise those who are seeking to be a chaplain in that setting. Chaplain Renato serves in Bocaue, Bulacan. Congratulations to our newest Diplomate. Chaplain Renato Eustaquio was recognized for having completed his training as S.I.T. and passing his board review on April 26,2024. Diplomate Renato serves as the head chaplain at Dr. Yanga’s Hospital in Because, Bulacan.

Come join the Clinical Pastoral Education Training (CPET) on July 1 to August 15,2024 (7wks) at the College of Theology, CPU, Jaro, Iloilo City.

—You may choose to have the training in Bacolod City next year on Oct. 7 to Nov. 22 (7wks) 2025.

CPSP Plenary

Dr. Bob and Diplomate Celia Munson were able to attend the CPSP Plenary gathering, held in Atlanta, Georgia, March 17-20. They were able to give a presentation at the gathering, ” The History of the Clinical Pastoral Movement in the Philippines.” It was well received and the event was a valuable time of learning and building relationships.

1. CPE class graduation at the North Philippine Union Conference in Pasay City on January 30, 2023. Chaplain Elvin Salarda was the supervisor. Dr. Paul Tabon, President of CPSP-Philippines was able to join this event.

2. Bukal Life Care (Baguio) and The Chaplains Office (Bocaue) are both holding active programs right now. Glocal Community (Baguio) has been promoting Community Chaplaincy work.

3. CPSP Plenary is coming up in March 17-20 in Atlanta, GA (USA). Doc Bob and Chaplain Celia will represent CPSP-PH there. They will be giving a pre-conference presentation on The History of CPE in the Philippines.

4. Summer CPE is coming up soon with programs at Philippine Baptist Theological Seminary, Union Theological Seminary, and Central Philippine University among them. More info will be coming on these and more.
